The Famous Huh?!

18 08 2010

Do you find yourself always  answering people with a “huh?” when really you heard what they said?

I do this ALL the time with Mark, my family and friends (thank god I never do it in a client meeting) Why is it that I do this? What part of brain shuts off to let this happen? Every time I do it, the other person gets so annoyed because i’ll say “huh?!” and 2 seconds before they get a chance to repeat it… I answer the question! HA. HA.HA

Please someone tell me they do this as well?! Or tell me why the HELL I do it!!!

185/135

16 08 2010

Over the last 4-5 months Mark and I have been devoted to losing weight and getting healthy. Our journey started back in April where we found ourselves very overweight and heading down a BAD path. That same month I made us a life changing doctors appointment at Red Mountain Weight Loss Clinic on April 20th. We walked out that day with HCG drops and a whole new outlook on our future!

The next 2.5 months was nothing but 2 liters of water and only 500 calories a day. IT WAS hardcore. We managed to be each others support group and push thru like we have never pushed before! Mark cooked every meal and I nagged him about drinking water, but WE DID! We survived and could NOT be more happy with our results :) Over these months we have become VERY aware of what we’re putting in our bodies, along with knowing we MUST keep ourselves active. Signed up with Lifetime fitness, got on board with custom exercise plans and have so much energy that our house has never been so clean ((lol))

Let’s talk numbers, everyone wants to hear numbers… I weighed in at 185 and in 3 months I dropped down to 145 just on the HCG drop. From there I started busting ass at the gym and now down to 135, total lost = 50lbs

Treat Receipt

Starbucks Treat Receipt

For those of who follow my Tweets and Facebook posts all know that I’m a Starbucks Crackhead… I must have it every morning and when I don’t, I’m pretty much worthless! Do you remember when Starbucks ran their Treat Receipt Campaign? It was right after the foursquare  Mayor campaign (which by the way was my  favorite social media campaign and really added to my crack addiction) I have been wanting to share with you why I think the Treat Receipt Campaign failed….

1: Could only get your $2 off at the same location you got the “STAMP” from
-Every morning I stop at my neighborhood Starbucks (the one I’m the Mayor at), order my Trenta Iced Coffee with sugar-free sweetener and head to the office. Well 3pm rolls around and I’m in need my “pick-me-up” so I run to the 16th and Camelback Starbucks, the one closest to my office and guess what? #FAIL I don’t get my $2 off because it’s a different location…

2: Had to use the same day
– About 85% of my days are packed with meetings, Lifetime Fitness and freelance projects and I just don’t have the time to stop by Starbucks again to fill my caffeine hole. Another #FAIL I have lost about 90% ofmy $2 off  because I couldn’t make it there the same day…

3: The pressure  n’ stress
- I know this will sound crazy but I was getting stressed with all these extra Treat Receipts in my purse that couldn’t use I couldn’t part with them, I felt like I was throwing money away and that I was a #FAIL Starbucks Crackhead!! The amount of pressure Starbucks put on me with this campaign, made me NUTS!

I get the reasoning behind this campaign but I felt like it was not fully planned out… But don’t worry Starbucks, I’m still a frequent caffeine addict that comes in and orders her Trenta Iced Coffee every morning!
